Unfortunately for Paris, despite pioneering the idea of being paid to show off how much money you have, the world really only needs one whiny, rich, mean-spirited sex symbol as its reality TV idol.

She was the first born-to-wealth reality TV star that really changed the face of modern celebrity, really ingraining the idea of "famous for doing nothing" into the cultural psyche. So long before anyone was keeping up with the Kardashians, everyone had their nose in Paris Hilton's business. Most photos from the bygone era when Kim was Paris' lackey show Kim staring at Paris longingly and adoringly, and Paris not really giving much of a crap about her at all, really. Paris Hilton was not only Kim's occasional boss in title, but also in the dynamic of their friendship. When they say at the end of the finale "Yeah! We did it." They want you to believe they survived a month without their beloved credit cards, when really the truth is "Yeah, we finished filming. In order to live in a truly self-aware society, we must acknowledge the ridiculousness of the fact that, in this weird world, we can use the phrase "Paris Hilton was the original Kim Kardashian." Back when Paris was leading the simple life and revolutionizing celebrity and reality television without even knowing it, her "maid" and sometimes BFF Kim Kardashian was little more than an accessory to Paris' early '00s spendy, tacky-chic lifestyle. You’ll get to hear from Kim first-hand as she pulls back the curtain on six of her longest-running, unbeatable health and supplement promos and gain highly profitable insights.

So, I guess if you notice this, then yeah. In this program, Kim reveals the control-beating secrets that she and other top A-listers use to rack up six figures or more in royalties per successful promo. And something tells me Paris & Nicole don't wear the exact same thing (EXACT TO A T), as previous weeks ago. Throughout the course of the season, you see the girls wearing the exact same outfits, hairstyles, looking exactly the same as previous episodes. The BIGGEST thing that gives this away is the editing. Should it be, given the description of the show? No, it shouldn't. It's not supposed to be set up, it's supposed to be real. When you see pictures of them and the title reads "On set of The Simple Life" - that pretty much says it all. They want you to believe these girls (Paris Hilton & Nicole Richie), have been stripped of everything that's important to them (money, credit cards, cell phones etc.)When in fact that's not the case.

When it comes down to it, The Simple Life is fake. If you read into it, and examine every single aspect, it's not so great. If you take The Simple Life as simply just fun, then it's a great show. A funny show with exaggerated concepts and unrealistic motives. Everyone has their opinions on this show. Whenever I reflect on my life at Northwestern, I often realize that I dedicate far too much of my time to extracurriculars, a large portion of which goes toward the Korean American Student.
